about me

So this is me. An amateur photographer who just loves taking pictures and trying out new techniques.

In order to keep photography interesting and challenging I pick a topic for every year, this year it will be ‘neighborhoods’. In January it was Central Park,Β  February it is SoHo and other neighborhoods will follow…can’t tell you all of them now. In previous years I had certain techniques I wanted to experiment. Techniques like isolation aperture, panning and other ways of showing movement in pictures.

Also a while ago I read an article. The author asked the question, if you can recognize cities by their colors. Do you associate certain cities withΒ  a certain color? If you think of London you might think of the red phone booths and red busses. Maybe Paris is green? New York might be yellow? I have been looking for New York’s color. All I can say for now is, that there definitely is a lot of yellow, but the colors are also constantly changing.

So I hope you’ll enjoy my photographic adventures of the city.

I’m in Brothers Grimm country here (Hansel, breadcrumbs). Thanks, I’m so far enjoying the postcards and figured I can always slip a jar of modpodge and a paintbrush in my luggage when we travel. Looking forward to perusing through your photo archives. It’s been years since we’ve been to NYC; might be time for a visit.

Hi Jem, thank you for checking out my little start-up blog!

I really love the fact that you challenge yourself by picking an annual focus for your photography; it has certainly led to some beautiful photos, from what I’ve seen so far. I look forward to seeing more of your work! You have a great eye for color, and some great thoughts on the color and essence of New York City.

Hello and thank you for the like at my new blog. I too am an amateur photographer – I like nature shots mostly but I also like to tie a story in every now and then.

I have not been to New York in many, many years. I enjoy your pictures and will follow for some more.

Thanks again and feel free to stop by any time.
